When the pandemic hit, many people found themselves with unexpected free time on their hands. Some people turned to hobbies they had put on the backburner, while others tried their hand at something new. For me, baking has always been a passion but with social distancing and stay-at-home orders in place, I found myself with more time to experiment in the kitchen. As I began to experiment with flavors and designs, I realized that I could turn my newfound skill into a business— custom cake making! It’s been a challenging but rewarding experience to turn my passion into a source of income. Knowing that I can bring joy to someone’s special event, like birthdays or weddings, is truly fulfilling. And maybe, in a small way, my cakes can bring a little bit of happiness during these uncertain times.
